Bildena GmbH wants the Bildena web application and this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a keyboard only, a screen reader, magnification or speech input.

01What this statement covers

This statement covers the Bildena web application (the staff, office, family and student areas, sign-in required) and the public website bildena.com.

Schools, school operators and public bodies that use Bildena publish their own accessibility statement for the services they offer with it; this page describes the software they use.

02Conformance status

Bildena is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA and with EN 301 549 V3.2.1, clause 9. Partially conformant means that some parts do not yet fully conform; they are listed below.

03What you can do

  • use every screen with a keyboard, starting with a “Skip to main content” link; dialogs keep focus inside and close with Escape
  • move a lesson in the timetable without dragging: open the lesson’s menu (Enter, Space or Shift+F10) and choose “Move to another period…”
  • zoom to 200 % and read the screens at 320 px width; wide tables and the timetable grid scroll inside their own box
  • hear confirmations, errors and status messages such as “Saving…” or “No results” with a screen reader
  • find a refused form step marked at the field, with the cursor moved to the first field to correct
  • get a warning two minutes before your session ends, and stay signed in without losing your input
  • pause the moving drawings on the website; the system setting “reduce motion” stops them before they start

04Non-accessible content

The following parts are not yet fully accessible:

  • Some fields outside the standard form layout (custom pickers, inline editors) may lack a programmatic label (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2, 4.1.2).
  • Some pop-up pickers are placed at the end of the page and are reached out of visual order with the Tab key (WCAG 2.4.3).
  • Some small icon buttons may be smaller than 24 × 24 pixels (WCAG 2.2, 2.5.8); not yet measured on every screen.
  • Text on a subject or class colour chosen by the school switches to white or dark ink by itself; for a few mid-tone colours neither reaches 4.5:1 (at worst about 4.1:1) (WCAG 1.4.3).
  • Not every chart fill and status dot has been measured against 3:1; their values are also given as text (WCAG 1.4.11).
  • Printed and PDF documents (reports, letters, invoices) have not been evaluated yet.
  • The application has not yet been tested with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) or speech input.

We plan to resolve these by [date]. Where a part is not accessible to you, contact us and we will provide the information in another way.

05How this statement was prepared

Self-assessment by Bildena GmbH on 3 October 2026: automated tests with axe-core in Google Chrome on 41 application screens (school leadership and family roles) and 14 website pages, scripted keyboard, reflow and text-spacing checks, and a review of the source code. It is not a third-party audit.

06Feedback and contact

If you find a barrier that is not listed here, or need information in another format, write to [accessibility@bildena.com]. We reply within [number] working days.

If you use Bildena through your school, you can also contact the school: it is responsible for the services it offers with Bildena.

07Enforcement procedure

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can turn to the enforcement body of your country, named in your school’s accessibility statement. In the United Kingdom this is the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) through the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS); in Northern Ireland the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).
